  Visited The Place to Eat, John Lewis, Newcastle today for their full English breakfast. Has been a while since trying this. It was truly dreadful compared with previous experiences. There were no freshly cooked eggs,previously offered freshly fried eggs. Both the sausages and bacon were of inferior quality to the usual. There were no mushrooms where previously field mushrooms were a feature of the breakfast. Neither the brown sauce or marmalade had been topped up,a minor point admittedly. It seems that, overall the breakfast had been cheapened. It now offered 8 items plus toast similar to a cheap supermarket breakfast. I could not find 8 items I wanted ! Will not be returning

  The parent rooms are great, and the staff always friendly throughout the store. I had a voucher for coffee/cake and so that was lovely, and I've been able to comfortably nurse within the cafe.

  One of Newcastles finest stores. Massive choice and selection. Always pop in for a browse when in Newcastle. Brilliant electrical department with a wide range of top brand Tv's and electronics and a Price Match available. Good display area and price match available on most items. Decent carpet and flooring section with a wide range of quality carpets etc. Handy sports department and even a choice of prams if that's what you're after. A decent lighting department and good clothing white goods and fashion areas for all. My favourite would be the perfume section, quality displays fantastic choice if designer fragrances including Jo Malone. Well worth a visit and a browse through their wide range of departments. All in all a great store with something for all. Great and knowledgeable staff very friendly and helpful.
